I'm no rug expert but this 8x5 area rug is beautiful, thick, soft and should last with care a long time. Put it on a nice thick dual-layer pad. It replaced a 35 year old piece of junk from Sears that was falling apart and musty and thin. I'm quite pleased. Even bought a new vacuum (Miele Twist) to take good care of it. It should out last me.KDM
